Catherine McDonough

Spotlight CV

Catherine is a highly motivated, experienced professional who has worked all over the UK, Los Angeles & SE Asia. A down to earth, open actress with an exceptionally wide emotional range along with the facility for more off-beat, quirky comedy.

Catherine’s early roots lay in politicized new theatre work collaborating with creatives from all over the world. In her early career she also produced, wrote and performed with her own successful theatre company, going on to work with companies such as Joint Stock.

Catherine‘s creativity is reflected in the eclectic credits on her CV including rep, site specific, film and TV. Recently she played May/Mother in Beckett’s Footfalls alongside classical pianist An-Ting Chang. This proved one of the most demanding projects Catherine has tackled which left us in no doubt that she could rise to any challenge.

Over the last 18 months Catherine has appeared in a number of feature and short films including ‘Where I Belong’ directed by Fritz Urschwitz, playing Glaswegian working class mother Claire Wright opposite Nathalie Press and Mathias Habich and due for release in 2013.

She is currently filming ‘Blue Train’ directed by Minolis Mavris……

“Catherine is an open and intuitive actor. She is a warm and engaging company member and performs with wit, delight, and emotional intelligence. I am happy to endorse her as a very competent dependable professional.”
Jeremy Stockwell
Theatre Director – BBC, RADA

‘It was more than a joy for me to work with and explore the nature of screen-acting with Catherine. She is, without any question at all, an actress with the most profound and subtle of talents; born, if you like, to communcate her depths with the lens of a camera; a very special actress indeed!’
