Aonghus was born and has lived most of his life in Ireland. He moved to London after training at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In Ireland Aonghus worked extensively in TV and film: a founding cast member of TG4’s long running soap opera Ros na Rún and a cast member of RTE’s television drama series Glenroe.

Although largely London based Aonghus continues to work in Ireland, filming Irish language TV drama 1916 Seachtar Anaithnid in the summer of 2012, whilst his stage experience includes the sight specific piece We Are Not Here as part of The Dublin Theatre Festival. At Glasgow Citizens Theatre Aonghus played Johnny Boyle in Juno and the Paycock and Christy Mahon in the Playboy of the Western World at the Arches Glasgow. In London he played Gratiano in The Merchant of Venice (The Union Theatre) and American Detective Inspector Frank Falzone in Execution of Justice (The Southwark Playhouse).

Aonghus is a warm actor with laid back charm who is superb in ensemble work and also has the charisma and ability to sustain intense performances in two-handers and small cast shows such as the fast paced farce A Comedy of Terrors at The Hailsham Pavilion and in DIG (The Old Red Lion).
